Bobbie Braun has lived on Long Island most of her life. Starting out in Great Neck, rearing her family in Huntington Bay, and settling on the East End, she currently resides in Bridgehampton. As so many landscape artists before her, Bobbie was first attracted by the light and exquisite panoramas of sea and fields. She then became drawn to the East End’s pulsating social scene--one that she now adores.

She began her creative career earning a BFA from Boston University and an AAS from Parsons School of Design, She owned and operated a successful, full service design firm, Braun Design Inc., participating in many of the prestigious Mansions and Millionaires Designers Showcases, and taught design at Parsons and the New School.

She is the president of Split Rock Farm, Inc. as part of her long-standing involvement with the National and International world of Show Jumping. She currently owns and operates two equine facilities in Lexington, Kentucky, together with her son, Derek.

She is also the Executive Director for the Neuwirth Foundation, serving on many boards. Currently she serves on the Board of Trustees for The Jewish Center of the Hamptons, The Nature Conservancy, and the Zenith Society for Alzheimer’s.

The inspiration for this book came from personal experience and observing the devastation brought on by failed marriages. Her crowd: mature, sophisticated women in their 50’s, bared their souls and shared their stories, especially those of on-line dating. She created Ellen and her imaginary cohorts, challenging herself to tell this story with wit and charm. This book was three years in the writing and what seemed a lifetime of living in real time and on-line.

Bobbie Braun is the proud mother of two fabulous young adult children, and one brilliant, baby grand daughter. Having finally found love, she resides in Bridgehampton with her beloved dog Thea, and Frank Roccanova, a wonderful guy whom she did not find on J Date.

LOVE AT FIRST SITE is her first novel.
